Men's Ministry

St. Nicholas Men's Ministry

General Description: An active ministry to provide men of the parish an organization for spiritual development, education in the Orthodox faith, fellowship, personal development and mentoring.  Members are to serve as examples as faithful disciples of Christ, providing service to the parish and its members, supporting worship services and special events, maintaining parish grounds and facilities, and support outreach, philanthropy, and charitable efforts within the community.

Men's Fellowship is a Christ-centered gathering where men come together to strengthen their faith, build lasting brotherhood, and grow in their roles as spiritual leaders in their families, church, and community. Rooted in the teachings of the Orthodox Church, men are encouraged and equipped to walk boldly in their faith.

Men's Ministry Mission:  The mission of the men’s ministry is to provide men of the parish an organization for spiritual development, education in the Orthodox faith, frateral fellowship, personal development, and mentoring.

Fraternal Relationships: The experience of men creates a natural inclination for association. Through baptism and chrismation, men become true brothers in Christ. A ministry for men offers this peer group with an important additional outlet to realize life’s greatest vocation—growing in the image and likeness of God—in an environment of goodwill, mutual accountability, and support.

Activities: This group will work with and support the parish’s celebrations, special events, festival, and fund-raising activities in support of those worthy goals.  The ministry may also may hold small group meetings, study groups and seminars, work groups, retreats, service opportunities, and sporting activities to promote fellowship and a harmonious parish.

Membership: All men (married or single) who are members of St. Nicholas or attend services are welcome to join this group or attend meetings to learn more about our faith.

Monthly meetings: The men's ministry group meets on the second Sunday of each month after lunch following Divine Liturgy (~ 12:00pm to 1:30pm).   Unless otherwise announced, meetings in 2026 will occur on January 11th, February 15th, March 15th, April 12th, May 10th, June 14th, July 12th, August 9th, September 13th, October 11th, November 8th, and December 13th.
